12 January Archbishop Claudio Gugerotti presented his credentials to President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko
In the course of the conversation with Ambassador of the Vatican City Archbishop Claudio Gugerotti, the Head of State expressed sincere gratitude for the consolidation of the international community aimed to restore peace and stability in Ukraine. He also thanked for the humanitarian aid provided through the Caritas in 2014-2015 for IDPs and affected people.
The President drew attention of the Ambassador of the Vatican City to the necessity of intensifying the activity of the international human rights organizations in Crimea.
In his turn, Archbishop Claudio Gugerotti noted that Ukraine is a priority for the Pope. The parties discussed preparations to the visit of Pope Francis to Ukraine.
